PACK (Password Analysis and Cracking Kit) 0.0.3
Posted Feb 18, 2013
Authored by Peter Kacherginsky

PACK (Password Analysis and Cracking Kit) is a toolkit that allows researchers to optimize their password cracking tasks, analyze previously cracked passwords, and implements a novel attack on corporate passwords using minimum password policy. The goal of this toolkit is to assist in automatic preparation for the "better than bruteforce" password attacks by analyzing common ways that people create passwords. After the analysis stage, the statistical database can be used to generate attack masks for common tools such as Hashcat, oclHashcat, and others.

Changes: The latest update includes a rule generation engine (rulegen.py) which uses a Reverse Levenshtein Paths algorithm to reverse word mangling rules.

DNSChef 0.2.1
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Authored by Peter Kacherginsky | Site thesprawl.org

DNSChef is a highly configurable DNS proxy for Penetration Testers and Malware Analysts. A DNS proxy (aka "Fake DNS") is a tool used for application network traffic analysis among other uses. For example, a DNS proxy can be used to fake requests for "badguy.com" to point to a local machine for termination or interception instead of a real host somewhere on the Internet.

Changes: Fixed a compatibility bug with older Python 2.6 interpreters.

Search Engine Assessment Tool 0.3
Posted Feb 20, 2009
Authored by Peter Kacherginsky | Site midnightresearch.com

SEAT (Search Engine Assessment Tool) is the next generation information digging application geared toward the needs of security professionals. SEAT uses information stored in search engine databases, cache repositories, and other public resources to scan a site for potential vulnerabilities. It's multi-threaded, multi-database, and multi-search-engine capabilities permit easy navigation through vast amounts of information with a goal of system security assessment. Furthermore, SEAT's ability to easily process additional search engine signatures as well as custom made vulnerability databases allows security professionals to adapt SEAT to their specific needs.

Changes: Fixed segmentation error. Various performance enhancements. Updated report generation. Updated XML SE database.
