---------------------------------------------------------------------- Accurate Vulnerability Scanning No more false positives, no more false negatives http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Testlink Cross-Site Scripting and File Inclusion Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38201 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38201/ DESCRIPTION: Prashant Khandelwal has discovered some vulnerabilities in Testlink, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks. 1) Input passed to the "locale" parameter in lib/usermanagement/userInfo.php (if "id", "firstName", "lastName", "emailAddress", and "editUser" are set) is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources via directory traversal attacks. 2) Input passed to the "order_by_role_dir", "order_by_login_dir", and "user_order_by" parameters to lib/usermanagement/usersView.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.8.5. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified and sanitised.
