DESCRIPTION:
A security issue and two vulnerabilities have been reported in
Cobbler, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform
certain actions with escalated privileges, by malicious users to
compromise a vulnerable system, and by malicious people to conduct
cross-site request forgery attacks.
1) The application's web interface allows users to perform certain
actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to
verify the requests. This can be exploited to perform certain
unspecified actions if a logged-in administrative user visits a
malicious web site.
2) An error when loading YAML strings passed via the Puppet
management interface can be exploited to execute arbitrary code.
3) The security issue is caused due to the application using
PYTHON_EGG_CACHE from an insecure location and can be exploited to
gain additional privileges by placing malicious python eggs in
certain directories.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository.
