DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in SBLIM, which can be exploited
by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the
"cmpi-base" provider when getting a list of processes
(OSBase_UnixProcess.c). This can be exploited to inject arbitrary
shell commands via specially crafted requests sent e.g. using the
"wbemcli" utility.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.3.8. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the source code repository.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Luca Carettoni and Claudio Criscione via Secunia.
