DESCRIPTION:
Dr_insane has discovered a vulnerability in Macromedia ColdFusion,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site
scripting attacks.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error as the
requested filename is insufficiently sanitised before being returned
to users in a 404 HTTP error message. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of a vulnerable site.
Example:
http://[host]/[code].cfm
The vulnerability has been confirmed in Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7.
SOLUTION:
Configure the server to use an alternative 404 error page.
