DESCRIPTION:
SecurityLab Technologies has reported a vulnerability in OpenBSD,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose
potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the
"kernfs_xread()" function within the handling of user-supplied offset
values. This can be exploited by a non-privileged process to read
arbitrary kernel memory via the kernfs file system.
The vulnerability has been reported in OpenBSD version 3.8.
NOTE: The vendor reports that kernfs is not linked into the GENERIC
kernel by default.
SOLUTION:
The kernfs code has reportedly already been removed from the current
kernel code.
