DESCRIPTION:
r0t has discovered some vulnerabilities in Xtreme ASP Photo Gallery,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site
scripting attacks.
Input passed to the "catname" and "total" parameters in
displaypic.asp, and the "catname" parameter in displaythumbs.asp
isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can
be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 2.0 (trial) and
has also been reported in version 1.05. Other versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
