WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
Five Star Review Script
http://secunia.com/product/10486/

DESCRIPTION:
luny has reported some vulnerabilities in Five Star Review Script,
which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion
attacks and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.

1) Input passed to the "sort" parameter in index2.php, to the
"item_id" parameter in report.php, and to the "search_term" parameter
in search_reviews.php is not properly sanitised before being returned
to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.

2) Input passed to the "review" form field parameter when posting a
review and to the "aboutme" form field parameter when editing a
user's profile is not properly sanitised before being used. This can
be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be
executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site
when malicious data is viewed.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
