DESCRIPTION:
Tan Chew Keong has reported some vulnerabilities in DynaZip, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
1) Boundary errors in dzip32.dll / dzips32.dll when repairing
archives can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when
a user attempts to repair a malicious ZIP archive containing a file
with an overly long filename (more than 2048 bytes).
2) Another boundary error when adding, updating, or freshening files
in a ZIP archive can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer
overflow via a malicious ZIP archive containing a file with an overly
long filename.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in DynaZip Max version 5.0.0.7
and DynaZip Max Secure version 6.0.0.4. Prior versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to DynaZip Max 5.0.0.8 or DynaZip Max Secure 6.0.0.5.
