DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Novell Identity Manager, which
can be exploited by certain malicious users to compromise a
vulnerable system.
Certain input passed to the Fan-Out Linux and UNIX receiver shell
scripts via the Identity Manager isn't properly sanitised before
being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary commands.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with root
privileges, but requires administrative access to the Identity
Manager.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.0.1. Prior versions
may also be affected.

Apply patch Fan-out Security Patch 1 for version 3.0.1:
