DESCRIPTION:
Adriano Lima has discovered a vulnerability in Apple Mac OS X, which
can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the
"shared_region_map_file_np()" syscall and can cause the system to
become unresponsive by providing a high "mapping_count" value.
The vulnerability is confirmed on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (PPC). Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
