DESCRIPTION:
irk4z has reported two vulnerabilities in CMSimple, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and
compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "sl" parameter in index.php is not properly
verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to
include arbitrary files from local resources.
2) The index.php script does not correctly restrict access to
logged-in users and can be exploited to upload arbitrary files, which
in turn can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code.
Successful exploitation of both vulnerabilities requires that
"register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.1 downloaded before
2008-06-01. Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 3.1 downloaded on or after 2008-06-01.
