DESCRIPTION:
RoMaNcYxHaCkEr has discovered some vulnerabilities in SnippetMaster,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site
scripting attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "_SESSION[SCRIPT_PATH]" parameter in
includes/vars.inc.php is not properly verified before being used to
include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from
local and remote resources.
2) Input passed to the "g_pcltar_lib_dir" parameter in
includes/tar_lib/pcltar.lib.php is not properly verified before being
used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary
files from local and remote resources.
Successful exploitation of vulnerabilities #1 and #2 requires that
"register_globals" is enabled.
3) Input passed to the "language" form parameter in index.php is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in the context of an affected site.
These vulnerabilities are confirmed in SnippetMaster PRO version
2.2.2. Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a web proxy.
