TITLE:
OpenSite Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34010
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34010/
DESCRIPTION:
Nam Nguyen has discovered some vulnerabilities in OpenSite, which can
be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed via the "permissions[]" parameters array indexes
(e.g. permissions[index][index]) to the "haspermission()" function in
admincp/includes/functions.php (when "action" is set to "edit" and
"do" to "save") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL
queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting
arbitrary SQL code.
2) Input passed to the "settings[site_name]", "settings[main_page]",
and "settings[enableplugins]" parameters in admincp/settings.php
(when "do" is set to "save") is not properly sanitised before being
used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries
by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
These vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.1. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
