Openswan Dead Peer Detection Denial of Service Vulnerability

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Openswan, which can be exploited
by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL-pointer dereference error
in the processing of Dead Peer Detection packets. This can be
exploited to crash and restart the "pluto" IKE daemon via a specially
crafted R_U_THERE or R_U_THERE_ACK Dead Peer Detection packet.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.4.14 and 2.6.21.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.4.14, 2.6.21, or apply patches.
