TITLE:
Small Pirate Script Insertion and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35272
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35272/
DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Small Pirate, which can be
exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks and
by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) A vulnerability is caused due to the application not properly
handling unclosed "[url]" BBcode tags. This can be exploited to
insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a
user's browser session in the context of an affected site when
malicious data is viewed.
This may be related to:
SA33790
2) Input passed to the "id" parameter in pag1.php, pag1-guest.php,
rss-comment_post.php, rss-pic-comment.php, and index.php (when "type"
is set to "rss" and "action" is set to ".xml") is not properly
sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
