TITLE:
NEWSolved Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35611
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35611/
DESCRIPTION:
lama has discovered some vulnerabilities in NEWSolved, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "jahr" and "idneu" parameters in newsscript.php
(when "m" is set to "archive"), and to the "newsid" parameter in
newsscript.php (when "mailto" is set to "ok"), is not properly
sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.1.6. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Enable "magic_quotes_gpc" in php.ini.
