DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in OpenSSL, which can be exploited
by malicious people to potentially compromise an application using
the library.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when handling CMS
(Cryptographic Message Syntax) structures. This can be exploited to
trigger a write to an invalid memory address or a double-free via a
specially crafted CMS structure containing an "OriginatorInfo"
element.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but
requires that CMS is enabled (disabled by default in 0.9.x).
The vulnerability is reported in versions 0.9.8h and later.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 0.9.8o.
