DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in the Advanced Stats on
Index/Portal plugin for MyBB, which can be exploited by malicious
users to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed via the "subject" parameter to newthread.php (when "fid"
is set) is not properly sanitised before being displayed to the user
via asoi.php. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and
script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site when the malicious data is being viewed.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.1. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
