DESCRIPTION:
IBM has acknowledged a security issue in IBM Java, which can be
exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions.
The security issue is caused due to IBM Java skipping illegal UTF-8
byte sequences instead of e.g. replacing them with "\uFFFD", which
can be exploited to e.g. bypass certain filtering mechanisms.
SOLUTION:
Reportedly, this will be fixed in version 1.4.2 SR13 FP6, 5.0.0 SR12,
and 6.0.0 SR9.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Reported by the vendor.
