DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Kingsoft Antivirus, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service)
and potentially gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the kavfm.sys driver
when processing IOCTLs. This can be exploited to corrupt kernel
memory and potentially execute arbitrary code with escalated
privileges via a specially crafted 0x80030004 IOCTL.
The vulnerability is reported in version 2010.04.26.648. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
