DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Cisco IOS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when handling Internet
Group Management Protocol (IGMP) version 3 packets and can be
exploited via a malformed packet sent to a device's interface.
Successful exploitation causes an affected device to reload, but
requires an interface to be configured with Protocol Independent
Multicast (PIM) mode sparse-dense, sparse, or dense.
NOTE: Transit traffic does not trigger the vulnerability.
