DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Free 3GP Video Converter,
which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the application bundling a
vulnerable version of the avcodec-52.dll library, which loads
libraries (e.g. quserex.dll) in an insecure manner. This can be
exploited to load arbitrary libraries by tricking a user into e.g.
opening a AVI file located on a remote WebDAV or SMB share
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but
requires that files are opened via the Windows Explorer "Open With"
menu.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.7.15. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted files.
